I miss green.

I miss sweaty kids.

I miss being on the swing set.

(Don’t judge me, I like being on the swing set.)

And I miss letting my alpaca roam.

(Alright, I don’t have alpaca, but if I did this one would be my favorite.)

Remember when it was warm enough that you could

actually take your snake for a walk?

Yup, I miss green.

What do you miss?

A Picture Poem From My Hoem

Leaves are falling,
Leaves are stuck.
So is this saw,
Now WTF?

Today I went out in the bitter cold and I mean bitter cold, like maybe forty-five degrees Fahrenheit, because I wanted to capture some pictures of the leaves showing up in places they didn’t belong.

A good example would be this photograph which clearly shows these irritating little wind blown leaves do not belong resting in the delicate branch of this evergreen tree.

And why would leaves cluster themselves around an old stump and taunt, “Hey, remember when you had leaves?”

Oh, I was all full of wit and wisdom until the wind started forcing the leaves stick on my camera.

Yes, the leaves made me go in the house and get my little Canon to take a picture of my big Canon and then use my big Canon to get one more picture of my little Canon.

Maybe Mother Nature and Candid Carrie are both a little bit whipped today.

1. In your Phriday personal post, include a phavorite photograph (like how I did that?) and a brief description of why it is your phave. Books, Not Just For Reading

September 28, 2009 by

I read, but not too often.

I write, but not as much as I want.

But I decorate every chance I get. Not the kind of decorating where you run to Target or Pier1 or T.J. Maxx or other stores where you have to keep spending and spending and spending. I just love to rearrange the stuff I have over and over and over again trying to come up with just the right combination of stuff to make it look cozy and comfy without looking cluttered and tacky.

And today I am sharing how I decorate with books. I love how books feel and smell and I love dust jackets and colored covers. I’ve bought books at garage sales for twenty-five cents never intending to read them but knowing I could use them for something fun down the road.

These are my bookshelves that are color coordinated. They are located in the living room, you can see the crown molding behind the shelves way up on top. Don’t look at the titles. And if you do zoom in and look at the titles, don’t judge me.

These are my gardening books which are way way way up high in the dining room because I no longer have to garden. We live in a woods. We have creeping charlie and coyote poop. We have deer that eat everything and anything. We have possum playing possum and fox (red, not Megan). My gardening days are done, but my gardening books are too cool not to keep on display.

All The Harry Potters, All The Harry Potters
All The Harry Potters, All The Harry Potters
Cause if you liked it, you shouldda had a shelf for it
Cause if you liked it, you shouldda had a shelf for it
Because you had your turn
Now your gonna learn
What it is to live with me
All The Harry Potters, All The Harry Potters
All the Harry Potters, All The Harry Potters
Oh Oh Oh Oh

And my pet care region. Volumes of information to be read about dogs. Cats? Just ridiculous little quotes about cats is more than anyone would ever need to know.

My recent compilation of items?

Play this music to get your self ready, because this is how excited I get when I nail a decorating piece to perfection!

You all ready for this?

I present for your approval Wicked and Son of a Witch along with my autographed Buddy Ebson’s The Other Side Of Oz AND a tin can. Green bird only serves to add visual appeal and (as if we needed it) more whimsy.
